With over 40 years of experience in the financial industry, Mr. Takao Sakoh is a well-known specialist in Foreign Exchange. Mr. Sakoh serves as Chief Executive Officer (Japan) at MPayMe Limited. Mr. Sakoh also serves as President of Sakoh Fx Advisory Inc. Over the course of his career, Mr. Sakoh has accumulated experience in Japan and overseas as a foreign exchange dealer at major banks. Prior to MPayMe, Mr. Sakoh served as the first Vice President of Union Bank of Switzerland, Tokyo Branch. After UBS merged with Swiss Bank Corporation (becoming UBS in 1998), Mr. Sakoh also served as foreign exchange department head at UBS and subsequently as Tokyo Branch Manager. He is an honorary member of Forex Club, Japan. Takao Sakoh graduated from Hokkaido University in 1970.
Mr. Mattox has spent 18 years in the strategy and capital markets sectors of the finance and investment industries. Mattox started his career in strategic planning for the internet division of The Walt Disney Company before transferring within the company to manage the alternative investment portfolio of the $3 billion corporate pension. After Disney, Mattox has worked primarily in the capital markets raising corporate private equity and private equity real estate funds globally, including stints in London and Tokyo for UBS and for boutique investment managers in the U.S. Additionally, Mattox has worked in entrepreneurial settings consulting start-ups and corporations in the consumer products, specialty retailing and investment management sectors with their strategic direction and capital raising efforts. Mattox graduated with honors from Harvard University with a concentration on political economics and the visual arts and is an active alum of Phillips Exeter Academy.
Sally Pai is a specialist in capital markets, fund-raising, private banking and asset allocation. Over the course of her career Ms. Pai has occupied senior positions in global financial institutions and private corporations in Asia, Europe and the US,. Currently the Director of Major Gifts at the USC Viterbi School of Engineering, Sally’s previous appointments include CIO of Boston Private Bank and Trust, a variety of senior international appointments in Nomura Group’s fixed income capital markets department and Private Client Investment Advisor roles with Mogan Stanley and JP Morgan Chase in Los Angeles. Sally also enjoys the distinction of having been Sony Corporation’s first non-Japanese employee in Japan. Ms. Pai is a graduate of the Harvard Business School’s Executive Education Program (The Corporate Leader), holds a B.S. in Business Administration, Management and Operations from Meiji Gakuin. She is fluent in Chinese, Japanese, Taiwanese and English
Carl A. Nabar is a specialist in Foreign Exchange Derivatives and electronic trading. Carl entered the financial markets over 20 years ago and subsequently held senior trading roles, with a recent focus on FX Options at BNP Paribas, AIG and CSFB. In these roles he was proactive in developing profitable, and soundly risk managed, trading ideas. More recently Carl has been developing, testing and marketing an FX Options electronic trading platform giving him a unique appreciation of the evolution of the markets.
Dr. Oral Capps
Dr. Oral Capps, Jr is Executive Professor at Texas A&M University, and Co-Director of the Agribusiness, Food and Consumer Economics Research Center (AFCERC). A leader in the field of Applied Econometrics, Dr. Capps has enjoyed particular recognition both from within academia and from public and private sector decision-makers for his research on demand analysis, specialized in working with large databases. Dr. Capps has a wide range of experience as a consultant to private-sector firms, state and federal government agencies. Dr. Capps holds a BS in Mathematics, MS in Statistics and MS and PhD in Agricultural Economics from Virginia Tech.
Dr. Juan Carlos Conesa
Juan Carlos Conesa is an Associate Professor of Economics at Stony Brook University. Dr. Conesa graduated in Economics from the Universitat de Barcelona (1991) and earned a PhD in Economics at the Universitat de Barcelona (1998) and at the University of Minnesota (1999). He most recently held the position of Associate Professor at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona from 2006 to 2013. In 2009 he was awarded an ICREA-Acadèmia research award. His main areas of research are macroeconomics and public finance.
